Nevermore

  • OMG, ravens mimicking human speech! I assumed they would be squawky like parrots. I was wrong. Could you imagine hearing that come from a tree while you're walking down a lonely, foggy street?

  • Newly released book personality quiz? I got Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman.

  • Hahahahaha. At least some women in the Bible got to decapitate some people though.

  • Really good.

  • So friggin' cute. "No need to cry", I did anyway.

  • An article about how some characters in books don't make it into the movies. It's so strange, because I totally remember seeing Winky crying in her stained pink dress all drunk on butterbeer.

Harpy has been gone since Sunday, but she didn't leave without getting a few jabs in first. She is no longer talking to me, but I certainly don't mind.

More importantly, my sister has two kittens! So cute, one has those opposable thumbs, I forget the proper term.

Unexplained

A few nights ago, I had a dream about Amy Winehouse. She was in a bird sanctuary or something, and an owl attacked her. She went to bed to recouperate with a cat on her lap. I don't know how much of a cat person she was, but she seemed content.

Also, my heart goes out to the people in Norway.

Writer's Block: Working hard for the money

[Error: unknown template qotd]I have a feeling the cats would be rock stars. Egypt would be a Jim Morrison type, and Apollo would be an Iggy Pop type. Queenie the dog would either be a baker or a slightly incompetant security guard.

Nothing

Dog was sprayed in the face by a skunk. I'm getting a nice amount of money back from EI. I listened to the song I mentioned in the post below, was kind of disappointed, the lyrics are still fun though. Nothing much. At least nothing that I want to type here.

We're going to go see The Crazies tonight, sounds better than I had expected. Want to see the original. The title sounds so perfect for a seventies horror movie.

Ho hum

As it turns out, I might be a slight (only slightly) workaholic. Or maybe I'm just bored. The boss was gone yesterday, and is gone today, so I have had virtually nothing to do. If I put all of the work I did today together and added the minutes it took me to do it, it would add up to about an hour. Maybe eighty minutes tops, and I started work at 8:30.

I wish it were 9 to 5, that way I can get an extra half hour of sleep. Or rather, an extra half hour of laying in bed while the cat bites my fingers. I also wonder if I could save my two fifteen minute breaks, if I could leave early. Too scared to ask.

Anyway, I've been reading a lot (since I've been working here, I've finished Persuasion and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz) of Daily Lit. I'm about half way through The Marvellous Land of Oz.

Writer's Block: Comic Instinct

[Error: unknown template qotd]
Yes, especially cats. For amusement they like sleeping on important papers, biting my pen while I'm writing, meowing at my door at 5 am, knocking things over with their tails, shredding toilet paper, and so on. I do not think these things are accidental. Do not be so naive to think a cat is clumsy, or unaware of how much sleep you need. Once I woke up to Apollo biting at my fingers to wake me up, because the food dish wasn't filled to the brim. They also sometimes meow non-stop if I don't pet them while they eat. And lets not forget the sick and twisted things cats do with mice. They must find those terrified squeaks really funny.

Was looking at a picture of a deer...

I remembered this time I was camping with my mom, Steve, Chantel, etc. Chantel and I were walking along Holiday Beach at night. We saw a deer, and we freaked out and ran down the beach. That was the only deer I've ever seen in real life.

Unless it was some junkie w/ sticks in his hair.

Other than some drama that happened yesterday, the funeral service went well. The living make things so complicated. If there's an afterlife, the dead must laugh at us.

It's Alive!

There's a strange bruise on my leg, I have no idea where it game from. I keep thinking that it's some alien organism that is imbedded under my skin. When I poke it, it moves! Not really, but I'm going to have my doctor look at it, because it's green.

Once my stomach gurgled, and it sounded like a pigeon. So I had a dream that a bunch of doves burst out of my stomach.

What's that smell?

There's a stray cat who seems to have a vendetta with us. He comes into our yard, sprays under the window, and leaves. I think it's because I let the dog out and didn't know he was on our porch at the time.
