A few days ago, but didn't feel like writing this:

1. I originally thought that the book would take course over years or at least months. But it was just a few weeks. So maybe Ana shouldn't have pressed him for information on his shitty childhood so early. Not that he is exempt from his behavior of course.

2. I don't know if people make drinking games for books, but this would be perfect for that. You'd get really drunk fast, so it would have to be sips for everytime one of these showed up:

  • elongate (in regards to nipples)

  • anything having to do with blushing

  • Kates tenacity

  • subconsious (shouldn't it be conscience though?)

  • inner goddess

  • "down there"

  • when Ana describes how his pants hang off his hips in "that way"

  • a ton more

3. This is hilarious

4. I hope the bit where "Toxic" shows up on Christians iPod is in the movie. Same with the IHOP bit.

5. Speaking of which, maybe they should have just made the movie NC-17. It is based on erotica after all. I don't know.

6. Christian doesn't want to taste blood? Doesn't he know he's based on a vampire?

7. Why is he so immature about being considered gay?

Anyway, the ending was almost like 9 1/2 Weeks in that bittersweet she-realizes-he's-no-good-for-her and it's-almost-uplifting kind of way. But then she's all "What have I done?!" Or maybe that makes sense. Then she could have ate ice-cream and drink champagne with Kate and moved on. But no, there are sequels.'Cuz she messed up her birth control.
This is a really interesting Vanity Fair article
