  1. Monster Squad (1987) Saw during the Great Digital Fim Fest. I really like it. In terms of 80's action, it seemed very ahead of it's time and polished. Of course there are certain dated things. Like the heroes blackmail a girl with nude photos and make a big deal over virginity.

  2. Birthday Girl (2001) I didn't expect it to be a comedy. Was okay, I guess.

  3. Like Father, Like Son (2013) Really good.

  4. The Missing Person (2008) Michael Shannon!

  5. Divergent (2014)

  6. Frankie and Alice (2010) Underappreciated. Canadian production.

  7. Happy Go Lovely (1951)

  8. The Lifeguard (2013) Directed by Liz W Garcia

  9. Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)

  10. So This Is Paris (1955)

  11. I Love You to Death (1990) OMG, William Hurt and Keanu Reeves in this movie.

  12. Godzilla (2014) Was bleh. Also, I understand how people are annoyed that this movie focuses on like, the only white family in Japan. I thought "At least they paired Bryan Cranston with Juliette Binoche rather than an actress in her 30s", and then they fucking killed her within the first 5 minutes! WTF. I do love that part where the dudes jumped from the plane set to that music from the beginning of 2001. That's what made the teaser trailer so intense.

  13. The Lunchbox (2013) Really good. I've had a crush on Irrfam Khan since In Treatment.

  14. Tracks (2013) Mia Wasikowska was also in In Treatment.

  15. Finding Vivian Maier (2013) Here are two articles I like about that doc.

  16. Deliver us From Evil (2014) Was okay. Same old lapsed Catholic fighting demons and finding God again type of movie. The scenes in the little girls room were pretty creepy though. And Sean Harris gave a pretty good possessed dude performance.

Actually, his character was quite heartbreaking once the demon was exorcised.

I guess Only Lovers was my fave, So This is Paris and Godzilla are tied for least fave.

These are the other movies I saw during the film fest, all are re-watches (?)

  1. Blade Runner (1982) So friggin' beaut!

  2. Alien (1979) Jonesy was a star!

  3. Aliens (1986)

  4. Kill Bill Vol 1 (2003)

  5. Kill Bill Vol 2 (2004)

  6. Pans Labyrinth (2006) The English subtitles weren't working, so we watched it all in Spanish. Also so beaut.

  7. Hellboy (2004)
